   
Lip enlargement can really enhance a patients rejuvenation. This can be done with fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm or Prevelle as little time as a few minutes. I try to achieve what the patient wishes but feel that the unnatural, “bee”sting lips are not attractive. However, our lips do droop as well as become thinner as we age so this definitely helps. I also do more permanent lip enlargement.
Lips can be altered in different ways. The lip lift-nasal is done by removing a strip of skin below the nose and the lip enlargement-natural way is done by the patient drawing in the height she wishes her lip to be and then I excise this part. It too results with an incision or scar along the lip line. This usually heals quite well and can be covered easily with lipstick. Different fillers like fascia, advanta implant can be placed at the same time to give more fullness to the lips or a V to Y advancement of the tissue from the inside of the lips can be done to gain more fullness also without the addition of any fillers. The patient can "customize" her lips depending on whether she just wants increased height or fullness or a combination of these.
These can all be done as an outpatient with a local anesthetic in the office and take about an hour plus. All external sutures are out the next day. You would need to be in the area a minimum of a couple of days and maximum swelling/fullness is present for about two weeks.
The fees vary depending on what is done/added but are between about $2500 and $6000.
